For the past two years, I led the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive design system and component library for Spot Money, a native iOS and Android app.
This initiative standardised the product’s design language, improved UI consistency, and significantly streamlined the product development process.
The Challenge
The app initially lacked a cohesive design language, leading to inconsistencies in the UI.
In addition, the lack of a structured design library resulted in slow design processes and inefficient developer-designer workflows.
The Solution
Centralised Design System
I developed a scalable design system that included typography, colour palettes, spacing guidelines, and reusable UI components.
Comprehensive component library
The Figma-based component library ensured reduced design inconsistencies and improved efficiency in translating designs to code.
Cross-functional documentation
I introduced a Zeplin library to streamline developer handovers and ensure reliable references across teams including stakeholders and testers.
